We are delighted to announce and advise you of the recent acquisition of W.M. Codd Ltd by Diesel Marine International Ltd (“DMI”) which was completed Friday 12th August 2022.
DMI is the parent company of a group of businesses, consisting of AMI Exchangers Ltd, Highland Electroplaters Ltd, Spiro–Gills Thermal Products Ltd, Landon Engineering (Castle Works) Ltd, DMI Drechsler GmbH, and DMI Automotive USA.
Its DMI’s intention to grow the business of W.M. Codd based In Barton Upon Humber and to further service SMEs, Mid-Market Corporates and Multi-national Oil, Gas and Renewable Energy providers at all levels. We shall continue offering W.M. Codd’s fabrication and engineering services to our highly valued customers and immediate neighbours, fulfilling their heavy engineering and steel fabrication needs as previously. A former owner, Mr. Andrew Codd will be retained as a consultant, for the foreseeable future, reporting to DMI’s Board of Directors whilst helping with continuity and servicing of new and old customers alike. The well-established criteria of Excellent Service, Prompt Replies, Reliable Quotations and very Close Attention to Engineering drawings and details will continue to be the mainstays of the 48+ year old business, going forward under the new ownership. We expect a problem free, smooth transition into the DMI Group by W.M. Codd. that was first established in 1964 and incorporated in 1974.
With the financial backing of the new owners, the Directors and Staff of W.M. Codd Ltd will focus on providing enhanced strategic support to all of the existing customers, manufacturing high quality steelworks and fabrications. W.M. Codd Ltd.’s engineering services will complement DMI’s other Group companies and the acquisition “fit” is perfect. Spiro-Gills Thermal Products Ltd located in Stafford share some of Codd’s customer base and are engaged in the manufacture of large, air-cooled heat exchangers; which require considerable fabrications within their construction; will obviously be aided by this acquisition as will our other Fabrication company, Landon who service Rapiscan , JCB, Vital Energy, Goodwins and Mammoet.
